‘Monday Night Football’ live stream: How to watch Falcons vs. Packers 2014 online

The Atlanta Falcons head to Lambeau to take on the Green Bay Packers in a matchup of division leaders. The 5-7 Falcons have done just enough to stay in first place in an NFC South division that’s the worst in football this year. Overall, Atlanta has certainly improved as the year has gone on; the Falcons have won three of their past four after starting the year 2-6.

The previous mark of 27,485 yards was held by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. That’s an impressive stat, but Rodgers has plenty of excellent stats to his name these days. He also went into the game Monday with 219 touchdown passes as a starter, the most of any quarterback in his first 100 starts.

He only had 54 interceptions against those touchdowns coming into this game, which comes out to a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 4.06. That number is almost double the ratio for the next-best player in Donovan McNabb (2.13). That list also includes Tom Brady (2.10), Philip Rivers (2.07) and Romo (2.03).

Rogers has the Packers at 9-3 this season, and they’re well on their way to moving into double-digit victories as they have a big lead over the Falcons at the time of writing. That would move them to 10-3, tied with a few other elite teams for the best record in the NFL. Rodgers had completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,325 yards with 32 touchdowns and just three interceptions coming into Monday.

Programs are a little shorter than usual on bodies for spring practices. Players who are finishing up their high schooling don’t participate, of course, but neither do most freshmen.

Spring practices take place during the school year, so the majority of the players in freshman classes are still wrapping up high school. The only freshmen who can participate are early enrollees. These are students who graduated early and have already been admitted.

Some schools have five or more early enrollees. Some don’t have any. And their participation can extend beyond spring ball; Alabama was able to have an early enrollee mimic Clemson’s star quarterback ahead of the National Championship two seasons ago.

Placement of chip in football poses another challenge

Mike Bossy Authentic Jersey October 23, 2016 in Glendale, Arizona. The Cardinals and Seahawks tied 6-6.

As Mike Pereira explains it, putting a chip in the football won¡¯t help with rulings that depend on determining when a player¡¯s knee hits the ground. There¡¯s another issue with embracing ball-chip technology.

In an era when the transition tag isn¡¯t used on a regular basis, the Steelers have applied it twice in the last decade. In 2014, linebacker Jason Worilds received the transition tag. Ditto for tackle Max Starks six years earlier.

Elite Brian Dawkins Jersey He is going to be worth more than the two-year, $11.5 million deal Mike Wallace signed with Baltimore last year. But will alleged competition between the Buccaneers, Eagles and others looking to make a splash drive him up and over the two-year, $22 million deal Larry Fitzgerald signed with the Cardinals when he was 31?

¡°I don¡¯t know if you can simulate something like that,¡± Sanu said. ¡°That was my first time experiencing something like that, and it was different.¡±

Of course, you can practice it, and we know that because Bill Belichick has done it before, which probably comes as a shock to exactly no one.

If a team is playing man-to-man, how is it supposed to defend him on that play, shy of bodying him into the sideline before he can make his cut upfield. That was a safety/nickel back trying to run with him to the boundary; Engram secured a step on the edge, then turned upfield on another wheel route before any defender found him.

Oh, and this is how he finished the reception.

Alex Rodriguez joins Yankees at camp, says he’s officially retired

As Alex Rodriguez returned to the Yankees as a special adviser Tuesday, he shut the door on the idea of ever playing again. The 41-year-old A-Rod said for the first time he is officially retired, declaring there is a “zero” percent chance he will change his mind.

Rodriguez said he briefly considered making a comeback after his unique breakup with the Yankees in August. The Yankees cut Rodriguez but let him play for one last week with the team. He doubled in his final game at Yankee Stadium. After that game, Rodriguez said he had a “few offers” to keep playing in 2016 but wouldn’t reveal which teams. The Miami Marlins were known to have interest.

“I thought about it for a minute,” Rodriguez said. “I flew the whole family home after that Friday night. I thought about it a little bit that weekend. I was fortunate to have a few offers. I called them back and said, ‘No thank you.'”

The history of special instructors in spring training is rife with novelty and nostalgia, but Alex Rodriguez may be the first to actually impart some valuable … well, instruction.

The injury-plagued Musketeers have dropped three in a row, including Saturday’s loss at Marquette, a result that helped the Golden Eagles slightly improve their positioning. Meanwhile, Seton Hall remains in despite a 22-point home loss to Villanova. Getting blown out by the top team in the bracket is a preferable result to losing to a lesser foe. On the flip side, a 17-point loss at Creighton sent Georgetown to 14-13, diminishing the Hoyas’ selection chances just as they started to look rosier.

Peyton Manning likely to announce 2016 return next week, per report

The future of the Denver Broncos’ quarterback situation is one of the critical issues of the NFL offseason. Though Peyton Manning has yet to make a definitive public statement on the matter, it appears he’ll announce his intentions to return soon, per Chris Mortensen of ESPN.
Kids Brooks Orpik Jersey
Claude Giroux Authentic Jersey According to the report, Manning seems on board with the idea of working with new Denver head coach Gary Kubiak. Kubiak has apparently expressed a willingness to tweak his offensive scheme to fit Manning’s strengths. The quarterback had enjoyed some of his best years under the previous coaching regime that included offensive coordinators Mike McCoy and Adam Gase.

Before the 2016 Super Bowl, heads and tails had evenly split the first 48 Super Bowls. Heads had a five-year run from 2009 to 2013, and tails came up nine of 11 seasons from 1998 to 2006. Each coin toss is an independent event, however, so one cannot simply wager on one side of the coin being “hot,” or one side being due to come up.

Both heads and tails were paying out at -105, meaning a $105 bet won $100 if the correct result came up. The team result was much the same, paying out -105 on an even bet between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, with Seattle winning. New England called the toss incorrectly, which will pay out -115 on another even bet.

One prop bet relating to the coin toss remains: the game winner. The proposition that the coin toss winner will go on to win the Super Bowl is paying an even -115, but obviously that can’t be determined until the game is over.

You can watch the entire six-hour Super Bowl pregame show, starting at noon and finishing up at 6 p.m., on your local NBC station. If you can’t get to a television on Sunday afternoon, you can also check out all the official pregame festivities online at NBCSports.com, or with the NBC Sports Live Extra app on your trusty tablet and smartphone.

Nick Swisher retires after 12-year career in majors

At spring training with the New York Yankees as a guest instructor, Nick Swisher said he has retired as a player.

Swisher issued a statement Friday on The Players’ Tribune.

Slowed by knee injuries the past few years, Swisher appeared in 76 games with Atlanta and Cleveland in 2014. The 36-year-old played in 55 games last season for the Yankees’ Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre team and then ended his season in July when his second child was born.

Swisher said, “Your body tells you when it’s time to call it quits. And this offseason, my body was screaming, ‘The dream is over, baby!'”

Selected by Oakland with the 16th overall pick in the 2002 amateur draft, Swisher hit .249 with 245 homers and 803 RBIs in 12 major leagues seasons with the Athletics (2004-07), White Sox (2008), Yankees (2009-12), Indians (2013-15) and Braves (2005).

He won the World Series with the Yankees in 2009 and was an All-Star the following year.

Swisher, 36, will join Fox Sports as a studio analyst for the 2017 season.

“For me, it’s just being prepared to play every day, wherever that is,” said Gennett, who had career highs in home runs (14) and RBIs (56) in 2016. He was also fourth on the team in strikeouts with 114, nearly doubling his previous career high of 68 in 2015.

“It’s fun for me. I’m not the best athlete in the world, but I’m pretty coordinated. I can catch a fly ball, field a ground ball. It’s all fun,” Gennett said. “It will be nice to have some other stuff to work on too. It can get boring doing the same thing over and over again.”

The Nuggets want that No. 8 seed and are willing to upgrade their rotation now to get it done

Theoretically the Lions could use the franchise tag on right guard Larry Warford or right tackle Riley Reiff. But it wouldn’t make much sense for Detroit to do that for either one. If the Lions want to keep either player, they could work out long-term deals with both of them, and if they want to move on, it would be best for Detroit to do that. Figure the next time the franchise tag comes into play for Detroit is next offseason, if Matthew Stafford or Ezekiel Ansah are still not locked up long term by this point next year. But this year? It would be shocking to see the Lions go down that road.

Game Youth Tress Way Jersey The Nuggets want that No. 8 seed and are willing to upgrade their rotation now to get it done. Plumlee is durable, having started every game since the beginning of last season. He’s averaging 11 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes per game this year and is one of the league’s best passing big men. He could even play with Jokic in bigger lineups.

For now, he’s an upgrade on Nurkic, who has seen his standing within the organization fall with Jokic’s rise. The Nuggets attempted to play Nurkic and Jokic together to start the season, but that didn’t work. They then tried starting Nurkic over Jokic for a stretch, but that didn’t work, either. Nurkic has been a reserve ever since. He’s averaging eight points and six rebounds in 18 minutes per game.

The first-round pick may seem like a heavy price to pay to make this swap, but it will likely be a late first-rounder with Memphis headed for the playoffs, and Denver still has its own pick. Plus, they’ll receive what could be a nice second-round pick in 2018.

Authentic Mens Mark Glowinski Jersey It’s a high tag at nearly $15 million, but there would be some level of surprise if the Patriots don’t use it on linebacker Dont’a Hightower should the sides be unable to reach a long-term deal.

That obviously has to change if Perriman is going to become Flacco’s prime target.

Both sides tried to make it work, but Claiborne’s health prevented him from being the player the Cowboys hoped he could be when they moved up to No. 6 in the 2012 draft to take him. He missed nine games in 2016 because of a groin injury after the best start of his career. He was flashing the ability many thought he had coming out of LSU. He was the Cowboys’ best cornerback. But then he got hurt.

While there is an admiration for the loyalty he has shown the Cowboys and that they have shown him, it’s better to make a clean break and see what else is out there on both ends.

Elite Youth Michael Griffin Jersey Some of that work involves meeting up with quarterback Joe Flacco. The first time Perriman caught a pass from Flacco last year was Aug. 22, and it was apparent that Flacco didn’t fully trust Perriman.

Flacco had as many interceptions (three) as touchdowns when throwing to Perriman. His rating on passes to Perriman was 72.5. Flacco’s rating when throwing to all other wide receivers was 92.4 (10 touchdowns, five interceptions).

That obviously has to change if Perriman is going to become Flacco’s prime target.

Dion Bailey Limited Jersey “I see and hear some of the expectations that go around, but at the end of the day, my expectations are always higher,” Perriman said. “So it doesn’t surprise me, and it doesn’t shock me at all. I just try to go out there and not really worry about the expectations, but do what I know and do what I do best.”

Steve Mariucci was Owens’ coach with the Niners for six seasons, and he believes Owens should be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

“He’s got the numbers and the career that says he should be in,” Mariucci said, via NJ Advance Media. “I thought he might get in last year. Some voters didn’t think that way, I guess. They seemed to want to make him wait. I think he’s waited long enough. Let’s go. He should be in.”

My sense is that Lazar will still be a Senator heading into the playoffs

I¡¯m not sure what ¡°asking for a lot¡± means, as a 1st round pick would constitute a lot in my opinion, but maybe they¡¯re asking for a 1st plus another prospect. We just don¡¯t know. But considering how little of an effect Lazar has had in the bottom six and the fact that Ottawa has only four picks in the upcoming draft, I would look to acquire a pick for him.

I could see a 2nd round pick happening, although Ottawa is probably asking for more at this point. I would not be surprised if there are a few teams that value him more than that, but I won¡¯t get my hopes up for a great return, or for any return at all.

My sense is that Lazar will still be a Senator heading into the playoffs, just because they are afraid to prematurely give up on a player (especially a first round pick).

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to follow the rumours and see if Lazar is actually moved in the upcoming weeks before the March 1st Trade Deadline.

What¡¯s really not debatable, however, is that the way the Bruins are handling this termination is embarrassing.

Jerome Bettis Game Jersey Issuing the news via Twitter is fine, as it¡¯s just how things work today.

However, here¡¯s the Bruins¡¯ website homepage as of 8:30 AM:

Hmmmm…it seems like there¡¯s something missing!

Also, the news was dropped on the morning where all of New England is focused on celebrating the Patriots¡¯ fifth Super Bowl win, with a rolling rally through the streets of Boston set for this morning.

Massachusetts senator congratulated the ‘Boston Patriots’ for their Super Bowl LI win

The Patriots haven’t played in Massachusetts’ capital since 1970. That didn’t stop U.S. Senator Ed Markey from congratulating the “Boston Patriots” in front of the legislature on Monday.

“American history was made last night,” Markey told his fellow Senators. “The Boston Patriots won the Super Bowl, and this triumvirate of Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick, and Tom Brady continue this historic journey to being recognized as the greatest single football team in the history of the United States.”

Markey would later correct himself, potentially because the franchise made a sole postseason appearance in 11 years of playing at Fenway Park and the college stadiums of Boston College and Harvard. The team moved to Foxborough, Mass. in 1971, a small town approximately 45 minutes from both Boston and Providence, R.I. Since then, New England’s team has slowly developed into one of the NFL’s biggest juggernauts.

The Patriots pulled off the most improbable comeback in Super Bowl history Sunday, rallying from a 28-3 deficit to stun the Falcons. The win was the franchise’s fifth Super Bowl win, tying them for second all time with the Cowboys and 49ers. Only the Steelers, who have won the big game six times, have more.

Markey’s love of the Patriots gives him at least one thing in common with President Donald Trump. Like Markey, Trump has been effusive in his praise of the team, especially his “friends,” Robert Kraft, Tom Brady, and Bill Belichick. The Democratic senator openly campaigned against the newly elected president and has been openly critical about Trump’s energy policies.

Given that another prominent Massachusetts senator once called former President Barack Obama “Osama Bin Laden,” maybe these Bay State slip-ups are just a proud political tradition.

Brady absorbed five sacks and eight quarterback hits

Matt Bryant was 28-for-29 from inside 50 yards on the season. But he never got on the field. Instead, Atlanta punted, and the Patriots got the ball back with 3:30 left and two timeouts for the game-tying drive.

Authentic Mens Martavis Bryant Jersey He threw for 466 yards and caught fire after halftime, leading the Patriots on five scoring drives (four touchdowns, one field goal).

Brady absorbed five sacks and eight quarterback hits. In the first three quarters, the Falcons pressured him on 45 percent of his dropbacks. But in the fourth quarter and overtime, as Atlanta’s defense wore down, that number dropped to 20 percent, per ESPN Stats & Information tracking.

This wasn’t even Brady’s best game. The pressure affected him at times, and he missed some throws. But down the stretch, when protection held up, he continuously fit the ball into tight windows against Atlanta’s man coverage.
Authentic Mens Luke Bowanko Jersey
At 39, Brady has his fifth Super Bowl title and is showing no signs of slowing down. The Patriots were 14-1 in games he started this season.

Andersen’s Hall case is hard to dispute. He is the leading scorer in NFL history (2,544 points), the leading scorer in New Orleans Saints history and the leading scorer in Falcons history. He scored more than twice as many points as the NFL’s all-time touchdown leader, Jerry Rice. And his 360-game scoring streak is the longest in NFL history by nearly 100 games.

Andersen was so good for so long that he was a member of both the 1980s and 1990s all-decade teams, while being selected to seven Pro Bowls and five All-Pro teams during a remarkable 25-year career spent with the Saints, Falcons, New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings.
